Spending the day cleaning the house can be exhausting, especially with those dizzying chemical fumes clouding your mood. The next time you want a clean home without the toxic turmoil, try pure essential oils. Certain essential oils have antimicrobial properties that help ward off germs naturally. A drop or two of Lemon Oil for example, combined with baking soda can free your fridge of smelly leftovers and leave a lemon fresh scent. Try these other essential oil hacks for a clean home and turn spring cleaning into a breath of fresh air.
1-2 drops of Lemon Oil can help remove clay, crayons or play-doh residue on the walls or tables.
4 drops of Tea Tree Oil and 4 drops of Eucalyptus Oil combined in a spray bottle with water can help eliminate the smell of cigarette smoke.
Break up grease in dirty pans by adding a few drops of Lemon Oil to dish water.
Create your own dryer sheets by adding 10-15 drops of Lavender Oil or Orange Oil to a terry cloth and tossing it in with clothes or towels.
Combine the following oils into a paste: 4 tablespoons of Baking Soda with 4 tablespoons of sea salt, 20-30 drops of Lemon Oil, 6 drops of Peppermint Oil and 6 drops of Tea Tree Oil. Use on tile and grout.
