Today and going forth, I will ride to celebrate the memory of my precious friend, Cindy McLean, who lost her battle with cancer on earth but gained eternity in heaven. She was the perfect example of one who lived a life of service, quietly showing compassion, love, patience and generosity to her beautiful family and to those of us who were fortunate enough to know her. She was an incredible athlete, friend and champion for others.
As I lead our team on a training ride around the mountains of Durango this morning, we will celebrate Cindy and a life well-lived. We will do our best to ride fast, hard, smart and safe, and to make her proud.
Three hours later…it’s been decided. We will ride the Iron Horse and a special training ride each year in her honor as a team, remembering her life and her courageous spirit.
